Emergency Lighting Tests" Emergency Lighting is used when normal supply to premises fail. This test is not just for ‘escape lighting’ but also standby lighting which may be used for escape lighting. If supply to normal lighting or parts of normal lighting to premises fail escape lighting is required to fulfil the following functions:
Escape lighting is required not only on complete failure of supply to the normal lighting but also on a localized failure, when such a failure would present a hazard, e.g. a single subcircuit on stairways.
